At least five people were injured after missile explosions struck Kyiv early on Saturday, The Associated Press reported. Ukrainian authorities said the overnight attack damaged homes and commercial properties, disrupted traffic on a bridge over the Dnipro River and caused fresh power and water outages.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said energy facilities in the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions had been damaged, describing the capital’s energy situation as extremely difficult and warning that heating and water systems were affected. The reported damage adds pressure to a city already managing the continuing effects of the war.

The strike came as negotiators from Ukraine, Russia and the United States prepared to meet in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. The AP reported that the talks are intended to address ending the war, while territorial and security questions remain unresolved. The attack’s effect on those discussions was not yet clear.
