Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency said initial reports indicated that two missiles had struck Qeshm Island on Saturday. It said there was no official information on possible damage. State news agency IRNA had earlier reported that local witnesses heard an aircraft and said two projectiles struck the Suza area. The reports have not yet established who launched the projectiles or what they hit.
Separately, US President Donald Trump said American forces carried out a limited strike on Friday against an Iranian anti-aircraft installation. The Associated Press reported that Trump described the operation as “minor”. The available accounts do not establish that this US operation and the reported projectiles on Qeshm were the same incident.
Diplomacy is continuing alongside the military escalation. Qatar’s International Media Office rejected circulating reports that Washington and Tehran had failed to reach an agreement, saying the Qatari prime minister had affirmed both sides were still working towards one. Qatar said its mediation efforts were continuing in coordination with the United States and Iran. With no official damage assessment for the Qeshm reports, the immediate facts remain limited.
